Terms of Use
Effective October 15, 2026.
CompenStation ("the Service") is a portfolio project that demonstrates a payroll system. By using it you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use it.
1. Demo only: no real data
The public version of the Service is a demonstration filled with fictional people and pay data, and it is reset automatically every few hours. Do not enter real names, addresses, phone numbers, pay rates, tax details or any other real personal or financial information. The Service is not a payroll provider, does not move money, and does not file taxes.
2. Not financial, tax or legal advice
Pay, tax and deduction figures are simplified examples. Real payroll depends on laws, tax tables and withholding rules that this demo does not implement.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- attack, overload, scan or probe the Service, or try to get around its security or rate limits;
- use automated tools to send large numbers of requests;
- enter offensive, unlawful or other people's personal content;
- use the Service for any real employment or payroll purpose.
Security researchers are welcome to report issues privately; see the security policy in the source repository.
4. No warranty
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, and may be changed, reset or shut down at any time.
5. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, the operator is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from use of the Service.
6. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States.
